Night of Jazz at Stanbic Piazza

“The veteran DJs, both born in Francistown, promise to share an exciting selection of jazz and classics with their audience. Given their years of experience and contribution to the jazz scene in Botswana, nothing short of a stellar selection can be expected from the tag team,” Streethorn Events Coordinator, Ngoni Tapiwa said.

The event themed “Jazz at the Piazza” hopes to attract jazz music lovers of all ages.

“For those who would like their music to go with a meal, Flava, Meat Bar and Maxis restaurants will be providing catering making this a festive occasion,” Tapiwa said.

DJ SK presents Streethorn Jazz on Duma FM every Sunday from 4pm to 7pm. SK is also a music promoter whose contribution has been instrumental in shaping the music scene of Botswana. He became a jazz DJ in 1983. He played at Club New Yorker in Francistown. DJ SK was also the resident DJ at all his jazz clubs and garden pubs, which include Ritzmar sounds, Village Gate, Club Take 5 as well as Jazzbrew.  He is a seasoned DJ who specialises in jazz music and classics (oldies).  His most recent gig was the celebration of Gobe Matenge’s 90th birthday at GICC

Milton Motshwane has played at almost all the jazz joints.

He was the jazz DJ for St Louis Jazz Festivals for four years. He was manager and DJ at Nosey Road nightclub for seven years.  He was the resident Jazz DJ at Millenium Jazz Restaurant and the co-owner and DJ at Jazzbrew, Mochudi 10 years ago.

The show is supported by I- Signature Barbershop, Cell Care, Big Show Events, Audio House, Stanbic Piazza, Flava Cafe, Maxis Restaurant, Streethorn Music Cafe, Press 24 Coffee House.
