There has been public outcry over the structure of the award where supporters pick their best player of the month.

The award has seen even undeserving players walk away with the gong, sparking calls for the process to be reviewed.

Segolame Boy, who has dominated the award since inception last September is February’s winner, despite the player featuring in only one game last month.

Boy has at times, won it when there were far more deserving candidates particularly in February when Mochudi Centre Chiefs’ Tendai Nyumasi was a cut above the rest.

Pontsho Moloi won it in November when he was mostly on the bench.

BPL chief executive officer, Bennett Mamelodi said they will meet with the sponsor to discuss the award.

“It is the prerogative of the sponsor to come up with revenue generating initiatives but based on the public outcry, we have to meet and come up with a solution,” Mamelodi said.
