The South Africa rappers were supposed to be the main acts at the sold out show but the show ended around 2am without any of them appearing on stage. To make matters worse, the promoters and MCs did not bother to tell the crowd what was going on.

This triggered anger amongst a number of revellers who started calling out for the two rappers saying “Nasty C, Nasty C, Nasty C, Emtee, Emtee, Emtee!”  The revellers felt they had been robbed of their money since they had paid to see the main acts.

Three hours into the event, a close ally to the promoters tipped off Showbiz, stating that the two rappers will not be performing as they had failed to come to Botswana for unknown reasons.

It appears that Nasty C had a problem with his flight as he posted on his Twitter account, which read, “Botswana, I’d like to apologise about last night. I was really excited about coming, but something went wrong with my flight arrangements.”

The event promoter, Leonard Miitawa said, “We paid for everything, the flights and bookings. Just check Nasty C’ tweet post. I do not want to say much, it will seem as if we trying to cover our backs. As for Emtee he will also post something on Twitter in a bit. Let me go I have to run” he said as he hung up the phone.

While revellers were waiting for Nasty C to stage a performance at Stanbic Bank Piazza, the rapper was performing in East London. The rapper posted on his Twitter account. The tweet read, “East London, Buccaneers tonight!!!. Buccaneers is so packed yo Thank You for the love East London!” (sic).

On Saturday afternoon Nasty C posted a video on social networks apologising on behalf of his team and promoters stating that he will come and stage a free show in Botswana on a date yet to be announced.

One angry reveller who preferred anonymity retorted, “these young promoters are always selling us dummies. They make us pay to watch people that are not even coming to perform. They should refund us”.

Despite the two rappers’s absence, local acts were in their best element, even though the sound somewhat let them down. The sound system messed up especially live band performances.

Rap crew Faded Gang stole the show, with their songs Skununu and Why So Faded Anthem. Disc jockeys such as DJ Chrispin and DJ Fauz were also in their element. The blue carpet event only lived to expectations in the VIP and the VVIP section where revellers were spoiled with different packages such as bottles of Vodka and other refreshments.
