The single features South African upcoming artist Young Myke and it is now available for download online.  In an interview with Showbiz, Baxon said he met Young Myke through social media and decided to set up collaboration.

“I sent him the instrumental so that he could put vocals on it,” he said.  Baxon who started music in 2009 said he grew up in a family that appreciated music and it developed his love for sound.

”I started music for fun, but I took it seriously in 2013,” he said.

He said up to now he has been making music for free downloads.

Baxon said he once joined the Hub music series, but he did not do well.

“Yarona FM’s Scramble for Africa is the one that put me on the map then and people started appreciating my music,” he said.

Baxon also said he met with his current partner, Donald ‘Dawn’ Kgosi last year and they worked on a mass collaboration called ‘Mochudi Anthem’.  The young man from Rasesa said he specialises in various genres mainly motswako and sgubu.  The rapper has also decided to go with trap music style currently associated with artists like Emtee from South Africa.

With his single, Baxon said he aims to open doors and make his mark in the music industry.

“Right now I want to push my brand, I want to release a mixtape in July this year,” he said.

Baxon said he would work with artists like Noello, MOI and Kheza Matofane.

Baxon said people should expect more from the mixtape.  He highlighted some of the challenges he has faced thus far like rejection from established artists.

“Besides that, promoters often use us for free at their shows and we don’t get paid because we are not household names,” he said.

Baxon said he is part of a label called Drop the Hits Squad (DHS).
