DJ KSB told Arts & Culture that the artists are ready to drop singles this year and it will include collaborations from South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

He has already penetrated the South African market after releasing the song entitled Abantubethu featuring Benga Boys from Mpumalanga in SA.

He said Mark Media Entertainment started transforming from a dream to reality last year.

“This was after that single and everyone wanted to work with me.  Since I had always wanted to work with young artists I didn’t decline all the requests,” he said.

DJ KSB said they wanted to do more collaborations, but something that could push their music beyond borders was missing hence the creation of Mark Media Entertainment.

“We are not focusing on our region only, so our record label is what came to mind and I sat down with my friends to brainstorm the whole idea and we had reference from big labels like Ambitiouz Entertainment and Kalawa Jamzee,” he said.

DJ KSB said the big labels made it easy for them to find a way to penetrate the regional market because of inspiration.

He added that he spent 2015 touring the country with his Street Jive TV Show and it boosted his brand and increased his fan base.

He said the talent company is made up of producers, artists, DJs, models and dancers.

“In short, it is an art centre and it is based in Gaborone West,” he said.

The talent company is made up KSB himself, DJ Yung (producer), Shonali (artist and model), Mansize (DJ), House Alpha (Artists/DJs), Maino (Artists/dancers), DJ Skipto (DJ/promoter), Misho (artist), DJ Dynamic (producer), DJ Tinah (producer) and DJ Bobzin (DJ/promoter).

However, DJ KSB said the main challenge at the moment is lack of finance.

“Despite that, I will still keep my initial plan so that I won’t kill the main label initiative and mission.  All I want is to see our music and brand growing to a point whereby we don’t have to introduce ourselves,” he said.

He said people should expect real sound from their pot.
