Alleged Satanist deputy head re-deployed

In an interview with Mmegi, the director of regional operations for the Central Region, Sane Mooketsi, said the situation at Boikhutso JSS was hostile.
“We decided to remove Mokobi from Boikhutso JSS for her own security.
She could have been a victim of violence from angry members of the community who wanted her out of the school immediately,” he said.
Mooketsi said as there was no position of deputy school head at the region that Mokobi could be appointed to, she will in the interim just focus on some office work until the situation is resolved.
Mooketsi said that he could not confirm where Mokobi will be posted or when the situation will be resolved because they are still dealing with it.
Mooketsi said as the region they could also not let the situation persist as that affected the learning process hence they had to remove Mokobi from the school.
He explained that the environment at the school was so bad last week, that it was not safe for Mokobi because her life was exposed to danger.
He said she was at risk of being attacked or harmed by angry members of the community who did not want her around their children.
Reached for comment, Mokobi said she was not in a position to respond to any questions.
“I am not in a position to talk to the media,” she said before hanging up.
Scores of angry parents disturbed normal school activities at the school protesting that she be removed from the school.
Parents feared for their children’s lives and contended that their children were no longer concentrating in class and that could affect their learning.
“Parents last week went to the school and disturbed the normal school activities demanding for the deputy to be removed from the school,” he said.
He added that the district commissioner then withdrew the deputy’s position to control the situation.
Allegations of Satanism against Mokobi date back to November 2014.
She was accused of initiating students into Satanism activities at her former school, Ramokgonami Junior Secondary School from where she was later transferred.
