The Permanent Secretary to the President, Carter Morupisi, announced that Keetshabe will serve as the new DPP boss.
Keetshabe, who is also a former deputy attorney general, was appointed to the OP after he allegedly controversially resigned from the civil service amid speculation that he was unhappy about being overlooked for a more senior position. However, in a rare turn of events, he then withdrew his resignation and was appointed the Counsel General at the OP.
During his time as a government attorney, Keetshabe was involved in the (in)famous case of the former University of Botswana lecturer, Professor Kenneth Good. Keetshabe defended the then President Festus Mogae who had declared Good a prohibited immigrant.
