The players; Ntesang ‘Mirror’ Simanyana, Kgololo Kgogobi, Edwin Olerile and Gaopatwe ‘Shoes’ Seosenyeng are said to be unhappy with the coach’s methods.

According to a source, the four players are to appear before the GU disciplinary committee. He said the players did not train on Tuesday and they face a possible exclusion from the weekend league match against Green Lovers.

For his part GU secretary general, City Senne said the matter is still being dealt with internally. He said the matter was still being handled by different structures and it was too early to discuss it. Senne said they have not communicated with the concerned players.

“We are yet to call them to hear their side of the story. We cannot take action before they tell us their problems. It will be unfair to the players, supporters and the football fraternity in general,” said Senne.

One of the players, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the stand off started on Saturday after a friendly match against Gilport Lions.

He said the coach wanted them to train after the match and the entire team complained of being tired. He said that did not go well with the coach.

He said they were not allowed to train on Tuesday. He said Kgogobi, Olerile, Seosenyeng and Simanyana were blamed for the dispute with the coach. He said they were told to come for a hearing yesterday afternoon.

“We have realised that the management is trying to come up with excuses to fire us. We are always accused of bad things. It would not be surprising if they terminate our contracts,” he said.
