Lawyer Modise David was yesterday slapped with a warrant of arrest by High Court Justice Tshepo Motswagole before it was revoked.

Motswagole issued the warrant after David failed to appear during court proceedings without giving any reason. David was to appear before court yesterday in the ongoing trial dubbed ‘Ledumadumane murder trial’. In the case three men: Mabogo Lesotlho, Kgololo Lesotlho (who are cousins) and Montwedi Molefe are accused of jointly and unlawfully killing one Ishmael Moseki during a football match played at Ledumadumane on February 25, 2012.

Particulars of the case are that an argument broke out between supporters of Ledumadumane’s Swallows Football Club and Mmopane’s Molapo Green Birds club, leading to one supporter of Green Birds being stabbed with a sharp instrument. David is representing Kgololo Lesotlho. After Motswagole issued the warrant of arrest, David showed up in court and the matter was taken to the chambers. By time of going to press Mmegi could not establish what transpired in Motswagole’s chambers but understands that the warrant was revoked.David is also a suspect in the murder of former Fairground Holdings chief executive officer, Michael Montshiwa last year.
