This is according to Press Secretary to the President Batlhalefi Leagajang. No reasons were given for the surprise eleventh hour postponement.

South Africa's Minister of State and Security Ayanda Dlodlo was scheduled to meet with President Masisi at 2pm at the State House. The postponement comes amidst reports by Daily Maverick that Dlodlo was coming to 'admonish Botswana’s President Mokgweetsi Masisi for hiring ‘right-wing’ AfriForum to represent it in the [Bridget Motsepe-Radebe] case'.

Motsepe-Radebe is President Ramaphosa’s sister-in-law and is implicated in the alleged P100 billion money laundering case. Last year, she and others faced accusations of financing a coup attempt against Masisi.

Last week Botswana engaged Afriforum to assist in money trail investigations, a move that is believed to have angered South African government.
