Boko and Saleshando sign the cooperation agreement

Speaking over the weekend at the launch of the UDC’s candidate for the Sekoma by-election, Robert Rancho, Boko said action would be taken against members who launch attacks on social media.

“We have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the BCP on how we are going to cooperate on by-elections.  “The energy that some of you have should now be channelled on finding ways of accommodating each other.

“Let’s know each other’s strengths and weaknesses to help us to become strong,” he said.

BCP president, Dumelang Saleshando, said it has been agreed that in any by-election, the party that had performed best in the original election, would field a candidate. “We have agreed that we are not going to stand against each other when there is a by-election. Let’s take this election as part of our survey of how we can perform if we work together.

“The 2014 elections have shown that we could have been in power in this country if we had worked together. This has taught us that we need each other,” he said.

Saleshando said the MoA binds all party members to help each other during campaigns whether their president is there or not.

“We need to use combined resources. Party presidents will ensure that their members are helping whenever there is a by-election. Our offices will give us full reports. We want the members to start supporting each other even in lower structures when others have an activity,” he said.
