Sir Ike revealed that his passion for music was motivated by the streets he grew up in.

“I find comfort and thrill in the music that I do because that is when I get to tell my story, be it mind-soothing or sad,” he added. The Mahalapye-born muso has been around since 2013 even though he only started recording professionally a year later.

“This song (Wavy) is dedicated to the youth. It is a feel good song that diverts our focus from the COVID-19 pandemic we are facing. We should jam to it as a way of putting our minds at ease.  It stresses more on standing out whilst hustling,” Sir Ike stressed. The number was produced and mastered by Carl Racks and Mikhali while Bambi was responsible for expertly compiling the music video.

“The entire scenario was funny because I just sent him the audio for the hit and he immediately showed delight and interest in it and we went on with preparing the video,” he stated.

Sir Ike went on to stream the video on digital platforms such as Facebook, which generated 10,000 views in a short while and already some people are turning the single into hashtag challenges.

He said that it was pleasing that his music has many views as it showed just how much people appreciated his work.

Sir Ike also indicated that his biggest wish in extending his market was to do a hit song with his role model, American hip hop artist, The Game.

Sir Ike revealed that he was currently putting together a studio under his record label, which he hopes will be completed early next year.  He further noted that he has upcoming projects to build up hype for the brand as he is already working on an Extended Play record titled ‘From The Heart’ to be released by December this year.

Sir Ike said that for one to venture into the music business one needs to have that fire in their soul to push the hustle until one makes it because it is not easy.

“It is important to do it from the heart as it is a burning passion that gives you the due diligence and determination. As an artist, make sure what you record is easy to be heard and understood by your potential market,” he added.
