My Star to launch Top 20 in Francistown

My Star has over the years produced winners in the likes of Motlha Mompe, Boikanyo Sejallolwane, Bianca Gabasiane, Sharon Sibonge, Kgalalelo Abotseng, Kitso Selato among others.
The Best of the Best show is aimed at attracting Top 10 contestants from the previous nine seasons to compete in an all-star show.
The first audition was very disappointing because the expected contestants did not come for the auditions but the director of the show decided to change it to include all the Top 20 contestants since Pop Star.
My Star, which was called Pop Star back in 2007, airs on Btv every Sunday at 6pm and has now attracted a lot of previous contestants and led to the selection of Top 20.
My Star founder, Keabetswe ‘Master Dee’ Sesinyi, said they are going to launch the Best of the Best Top 20 in the second city.
He added that since the inception of the musical show, they have for the past nine seasons launched the show only in Gaborone.
Sesinyi said they have for the past seasons received great support from the Francistowners and the people deserved to be part of the Best of the Best Top 20 launch.
Sesinyi disclosed that the nation has been waiting for the time to see the winners of all past seasons of the reality music show on one stage.
He revealed that the contestants have shown great maturity and came prepared for the show because they are aware of the talents that other participants have.
“Competition is very tough as we have all the winners in one place. We consider every contestant a champion because everyone of them has his/her own pros and cons and it’s time for the audience to choose their winner,” said Master Dee.
He said that after the launch, Batswana are going to be given a difficult task and pressure to vote in order to keep their favourite contestant.
Master Dee noted that challenges are always there in every business concept but they are doing everything in their power to take the show to another level.
He expressed great disappointment because some of the previous contestants they were expecting to join the 10th season didn’t come forward. “Most of the talented contestants didn’t audition because they have other commitments,” he said.
He revealed that the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture (MYSC), Mascom, Choppies, Planet Lodge, Adansonia Hotel, Mr Price, Markarms and others sponsor the Best of the Best show.
Sesinyi indicated that the majority of the people have shown a lot of interest towards the show which motivates the contestants.
An excited fan, Thembeni Malunga, revealed that she was happy that Best of the Best Top 20 will be launched in the second city for the first time.
She said the show is going to be interesting because all the remaining participants are creative singers.
She disclosed that she will be amongst the audience and wishes for Tebogo Seoseng the winner of My Star 2013 to win the Best of the Best season.
