Mokotedi will be contesting against Khumoekae Richard for the youth league presidency in May.

“Even if I know that my team cannot lose elections, we cannot have a situation where party members forget that they will need each other after elections. I do not mind reconciliation at all and for me it is not about the party position but to ensure that our party remains intact even after Mahalapye congress.”

“I have been a member of this party during the hard times when it was not in fashion, when some people had no interest in it.

“So I do not want to see my party shaken or divided because some members want to de-campaign others by tarnishing their names,” Mokotedi said.

He said his campaigns would not be based on dirty tricks, but rather on building the party and selling his lobby list ideas to people.

He also revealed that his campaign manager would be Thamaga West councillor, Tona Selala while the coordinator will be Bontleng councillor, Olebogeng Kemelo.

“My team will be campaigning and touring the country. Although delegates have not yet been chosen, we want to be ready since we will be launching our manifesto soon. “Our agenda is very clear in that we are committed to opposition cooperation.

“We want our party leadership to finish cooperation talks quickly so that the campaigns could start for us to sell opposition to people.

“Again we want our youth league to employ a secretary general and organising secretary so that they can manage events and membership of youth,” he said.

He added that youth league structures often collapse because they do not have their own bank accounts.

“It’s time the youth league stops being dependent on the mother body. We need active youths who can run their finances without relying on the mother body.

“At times youth fail to do certain things because they do not have funds,” he said.
