BOBS is yet to appoint a substantial managing director (MD) since last December following the departure of its past immediate substantive MD, Masego Marobela.

Mmegi is privy to details that on July 14, 2020 the Standards Council suspended its acting MD, Theko Fako and manager finance, Ompelege Tiro until further notice.

In a leaked letter written to BOBS staff by the Standards Council chairperson, Dr Kereng Masupu, no details are provided for the suspensions.

The BOBS Standards Council chairperson has, however, announced through his letter: “Members of staff are hereby notified of the suspension from duty of the acting MD Fako and manager finance Tiro until further notice.”

“The Standards Council has in the interim appointed Keeper Morgan, director commercial enterprises as the acting MD whilst the recruitment of the substantial MD is being carried out,” further reads a letter authored by Masupu.

The letter further promised that staff will be informed accordingly of the outcome of the recruitment process.

Quizzed about what could have precipitated the Standards Council’s suspensions of BOBS executives, Masupu was evasive.

“I am unable to comment on this matter at this time as investigations are on,” was all that Masupu could muster.

Masupu could not shed light on allegations that the duo is reportedly facing allegations ranging from insubordination, non-performance, questionable awarding of a tender amongst others.

Given the right to reply this week, suspended acting MD, Fako, was unwilling to talk, referring all enquiries to the Standards Council. Attempts to further reach Tiro could not bear fruit, as his mobile number was unavailable.
