Tatitown police recover 14 stolen flat screen TVs

Tatitown police station commander, superintendent Edward Leposo,  said that the television sets were stolen following a break-in at the Francistown Oriental Plaza in Kgaphamadi (location). 

He added that at the moment they are still searching for the remaining two television sets. 

Leposo noted that they have also arrested two people in connection with the break-in and are currently held in police custody. Others linked to the incident are still at large.

The police chief said that he could not disclose anything further on the matter as the investigation is still at preliminary stage.

The two suspects in police custody will appear before the Francistown Magistrate’s Court tomorrow. 

Meanwhile on another matter, police in Letlhakane village have charged and fined entrepreneur and former ‘My Star’ contestant, Gibson Matlakala also known as Smarh.

Matlakala recently made headlines after featuring in a Facebook video clip claiming that the police were harassing him at his business premises in Letlhakane. 

According to Letlhakane police station commander, superintendent Michael Maphephu, Matlakala was fined P2,000 for allegedly obstructing police officers when executing their duties, failing to comply with the conditions of his trading licence and failing to comply with coronavirus (COVID-19) regulations.

He added that two of Matlakala’s friends were each fined P500.
