Khama was adressing multitudes of Batswana that thronged Machaneng village during the launch of ESP on Saturday.

He said that people should not mind those who undermine the good intensions of ESP, adding that they only want to push their political agendas.

“They are those who set themselves to tarnish the good intention of ESP, the usual suspect who dwell on fighting for the space in the media by misleading people.

“However, results that shall avail from ESP will shame them just like the Bible said in Psalms, ‘let the lying lips be put to silence by good deeds’,” he said.

He noted that the main objective of ESP is to boost the national economy through accelerated job creation and citizen empowerment using the Economic Diversification Drive (EDD) and harnessing the special Economic Zones (SEZs) programme for citizens.

He argued that the efficiencies achieved in ESP will be passed on to all other projects in the  economy through the coming National Development Plan.

Khama assured the public that ESP is an initiative that will change their lives and they should support it and use it to upgrade their lives.

Area MP  Dorcus Makgato appreciated the gesture by the president to launch ESP in her area.

“It is a privillege to host the event of this magnitude. It has placed our constituency on the map. History was made and shall forever dwell on the lips of many,” she said.

She shared same sentiments as the president that Batswana should ignore what is said by the ESP critics saying that as the ruling party, they could not just sit back and watch  Batswana suffering following the global recession.

“As Botswana Democratic Party we do believe in ESP and we will see to it that it happens and lives of Batswana are trasformed,” she added.
