The Ostriches enjoyed much of the ball and took only six minutes to put Miscellaneous on their way to a third consecutive defeat when Ronald Chikomo converted from a cross.

The goal jolted both side’s into action with Miscellaneous showing a lot of urgency, but could not break the visitors’ defence.  Orapa wrapped the game after 22 minutes when Patrick Lenyeletse found the target. Orapa continued to ask questions, but it was the hosts’ Bogosi Nfila who missed a glorious opportunity to reduce the deficit in the 28th minute.

Bophelo Kealeboga denied Mandlaenkosi Sibanda in the 34th minute with Orapa United heading into the break firmly ahead.  Miscellaneous coach Russia Chaba introduced Tendai Kesekile for Ketimilwe Pako in search of a goal.

Both teams had a couple of chances, which were not converted but Miscelleneous had much more ball procession. Miscelleneous’ Master Masitara missed from a corner kick in the 58th minute.

Orapa held on to pick three valuable points which sent them to the top of the log before Township Rollers’ game against Gilport Lions yesterday.

Orapa coach, Madinda Ndlovu said he was happy with the performance more so that they had drawn their last two matches.

“We came into the game with an intension to stop our opponents from attacking.  Credit must be given to the boys for them to have gone this far.  They are competing and putting pressure on Rollers,” said Ndlovu. Chaba said they had prepared well, but conceded two quick goals, which sapped life out of his team.

“After the break, we took the game into our hands that is when we could have scored,” he said.

However, he expressed unhappiness at the way he was abused by the fans, who accused him for the loss. He said losing Keolopile Molemi to BDF XI hit them hard as they did not find a suitable replacement due to limited resources. He said he is unsure of his future with the team after supporters abused him.
