Gunners and Chiefs are in the middle of a transfer wrangle involving veteran striker Kekaetswe ‘Mara’ Moloi.

Moloi’s move to Gunners fell through at the eleventh hour of the January transfer window and the Lobatse side has since taken Chiefs before the Players’ Status Committee (PSC). The matter would be heard next week Thursday.

“To avoid overcrowding we have appealed to our fans to use the covered stands and let the Gunners’ fans take the Panda stands. The stadium is very small to host the two teams because the capacity has been reduced due to the renovations,” said Chiefs’ spokesperson, Clifford Mogomotsi.

Both teams have found their form after having a rather topsy-turvy first round.  Chiefs’ coach, Mike Sithole said his new signings have been the turning point.

“We had a defence problem in the first round, our recruitment process has gone well as the new players having been performing at their best,” Sithole said. Lemponye Tshireletso would hope to continue with his good form. He has scored four of the Chiefs’ nine goals in the last three games. Magosi are without young defender Tshepo Baipoledi through injury while skipper Pontsho Moloi is expected to pass a late fitness test.

Mapantsula on the other hand are unbeaten in nine matches. Coach Daniel Nare said his side would not be under pressure to reverse the first round result.

“Chiefs are chasing the league and we are a chasing a top eight spot. They have players, who can produce individual brilliance, while we will be relying on team effort,” he said.

Diminutive winger, Tshegofatso Chimuku, carries Guna-Guna’s hopes and has been in excellent form coming from the bench in most cases.  Gunners’ Oabile Makopo, Bonno Mosea and Topo Piet are available for selection after recovering from injuries, while skipper Desire Bafana and Letlhogonolo Mosala are ruled out.

Meanwhile, Orapa United would look to close the gap at the top when they visit Miscellaneous at the Serowe Sports Complex tonight.

But the Orapa side is without inspirational captain, Thabang Mosige who is serving a suspension.

Leaders, Township Rollers, play Gilport Lions on Sunday at the Molepolole Sports Complex without key players Kabelo Dambe, Tshepo Motlhabankwe and Gofaone Tiro through suspension.
