Montshiwa case witness attacked

The 42-year-old man was attacked by unknown culprits in the bush near Kgale Junction. He was taken to Julia Molefe Clinic where a nurse agreed that she would contact the police after administering treatment to the patient; then the police would come and collect him.
However, unconfirmed reports say the patient discharged himself from Julia Molefe Clinic and went to Bokamoso Private Hospital where he was admitted.
The man’s relative said: “We feel it is just one of those robberies, it could have happened to anyone. We do not believe it is linked with the case of the CEO murder trial.”
Montshiwa was shot dead at his home in Block 6 in October last year. In December, police arrested a lawyer, a traditional doctor and a business man. The three have since appeared for mention at a magistrate court in Gaborone, and are out on bail.
However, the investigating officer in the case, Superintendent Sergeant Marapo said he was not aware that a potential witness had been attacked.
