According to the Office of the President (OP), the launch will be performed by President Ian Khama and is expected to start at 8am.

As part of the launch, the Ministry of Lands and Housing will also unveil Public Officers’ housing units that are already under construction in Machaneng. The houses will alleviate shortage of staff accommodation.

The ESP is a Government initiative aimed at boosting the national economy through accelerated job creation and citizen empowerment using the Economic Diversification Drive (EDD) and harnessing the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) programme for citizens.

Meanwhile, the public is informed that Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for ESP tenders have been released for projects to be undertaken by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Science and Technology as well as the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development. Whilst the EOIs were on the Daily News and on the Government Facebook page, they can also be viewed at all District Commissioners’ Offices around the country. Further updates on ESP will be provided as they unfold.
