The first installment of the people’s festival was held at University of Botswana (UB) amphitheatre last October.  The second and third shows were held at Molapowabojang and Serowe Grounds last December.  Mogatusi Spring Sebego of Springbok Entertainment told Showbiz that disco fans should come to the festival because unfortunate incidents at Splash festivals are a thing of the past.

“Since we took over Splash events we have never reported any incidents of unruly behaviour. Disco goes way back and it is also attended by elderly people ,so I don’t see why anyone would not want to come to this show,” he said.  In the past bad incidents at Splash festivals were commonplace with reports of people being injured or killed.

Spring, who has signed a three-year contract with Dalom Music, however, assured that they have intensified security in their past three shows. “The police have been there in all of our events and it was helpful,” he said.

He said the people’s festival has conditions that guide everyone who get into the show. “We don’t allow people to take their clothes off, no spilling of beer on others and no movement at the parking lot,” he said.  Spring said people love disco and it is time to bring back long lost disco fans.

He said the shows have been absent for a long time due to bad incidents, but Springbok Entertainment aims to change the perception.

“I encourage people to come and have fun.  Splash shows should be all about respect,” he said. With the lineup, he said he decided to bring in Oscar Chakabuya to blend in with kwasa-kwasa sounds and create a unique atmosphere.  Spring said Splash changes attire each and every show.

“I want a beautiful show and people can also come up with suggestions on how to improve the show,” he said.

The ticket for the show is sold at P120 and the show will start at 7pm till late.
