Comics set a romantic night

The show dubbed ‘Where Is My Valentine 2? - Laugh Is In The Air’ will feature young comics Tulani Tau, Umbambi ‘Bambino’ Ndiwenyu, Charles Manase and Prince Macheng.

“Love and relationships are a very sensitive issue to address in Botswana.

So besides us just entertaining people, we also wish to steer their way of thinking, and actually allow them to talk about love and relationships more freely.

We also want to bring the lighter side of comedy to the fore, without offending or targeting anyone in particular,” one of the show organisers, Bambino said.

Bambino explained that the theme of the show is inspired by the popular phrase ‘love is in the air’ adding, “Ours however, refers to how jokes can be inspired by anything”.

On social networks the show is trending with the following hashtags  #BringBae and #BaeMustFall.

The word Bae is mainly used as an affectionate word by young urbanites when referring to their lovers.

Bambino said while the show is dedicated to Valentine’s Day, it does not necessarily mean that it targets only couples as singles are also welcome.

Bambino who will also be performing explained that the show will not be entirely based on love and relationships.

He explained that comics will feature topical issues such as the Budget Speech, and the State of the Nation Address.

Bambino said the audience should expect a lot from him, including his Kalanga love acts that he will be performing.
