The MP argues that some people solely depend on Ipelegeng for their monthly salary. 'It has become clear that most of our citizens, almost 70,000 per month depend on the Ipelegeng programme for their survival. These people, while at work, were organised into smaller groups of less than 20 and assigned specific duties. Government has since increased the numbers for gatherings to 50 people and it is my contention that the time has come to reinstate the programme and the numbers [restored] to pre-COVID-19 period,” Mmolotsi stated.

He told Mmegi that his motion will indeed be debated tomorrow.
