The club president, Phenyo Gothaamang said the new committee intends to amend the club’s constitution in a bid to privatise the club.  The club is reportedly close to financial relief as a deal with an unidentified company will be officially unveiled at Saturday’s extra ordinary meeting. But Gothaamang denies reports that a new sponsor will be unveiled, instead saying they will seek a mandate from the fans to privatise the club.

“I know nothing about such issues of signing a sponsorship deal. I know nothing about unveiling any new sponsorship over the weekend.

“We are just going to host an extraordinary meeting. We are going to ask for a mandate from the team owners. We are going to ask them to give us the go ahead to privatise the team,” Gothaamang said.

The administrator said they intend to harmonise the constitution so that it doesn’t contradict their privatisation objective.  “Our intention as the new committee is to harmonise our constitution so that it won’t be offensive to this initiative of privatisation.

“As of now it is not in our constitution that the team can be privatised, so we need to address that issue in the constitution,” he said.
