Tse Nala signed the agreement with the insurance company last August  but the deal was only launched last weekend.

The deputy Bangwato chief, Serogola Seretse desrcibed the sponsorship as a breakthrough for the team and thanked Botswana Life.

“We have been broke; many companies have been promising to sponsor us but could not do that. The sponsorship came at a time when team most needed it and I believe it will motivate the players to work even harder,” he said.

“This is the beginning of our journey, we hope to continue with you until we win the league. We don’t undermine our team,” added Seretse.

Botswana Life Head of Life Rewards and Customer Loyalty, Thomas Masifhi said the money is expected to help the team in all its technical aspects. The sponsorship is for the 2015/2016 season.

“We are only a technical sponsor, so we have already started buying new kits for the team and they were launched last year. Through this sponsorship, we wish to see Miscellaneous grow from strength to strength. We wish to see the players’ morale boosted and their performance improving on the pitch.

We wish to see the supporters rally behind the team more than ever before. Through this support, we wish to drive the team forward,” said Masifhi.

“As the only locally owned life insurance company in the country, we have a wide range of branches and satellites across the country and we wish to remain connected to the communities within which we operate. That is why we are constantly looking for opportunities to support local talent, collaborate with communities and contribute positively to the social dynamics of Batswana,” he said.

He said they found it suitable to support Miscellaneous, as it is one of the teams with a long history in the football fraternity of Botswana. Despite a 3-1 loss to Gaborone United over the weekend, Miscellaneous has started the season well as they find themselves in position six.
