GBV undermines the health, dignity, security and autonomy of its victims; yet it remains shrouded in a culture of silence and normalization.

Botswana has long been facing Gender- Based Violence (GBV) crisis, with one in three women having experienced abuse in the lifetime, according to Nations

Relationship Study. The population review of 2019 places Botswana as the second country on rape cases at 92.9% per 100, 000 citizens.

This should be a learning curve to all the victims, parents/guardians who continue to protect the perpetrators and not report any GBV, rape and sexual exploitation of the children for various reasons including their financial gains.
