The congress is expected to be held mid this year, The Monitor has learnt.

At a meeting held in Ramotswa recently Kenathata’s team was assembled, and it includes the current vice president (primary education) Agang Habana as the candidate for the deputy President. The current vice President (secondary education), Idah Motsiane, is vying for the vice Presidency (gender) in Kenathata’s corner.

The Monitor is also reliably informed that Lobatse-based vice regional organiser, (primary education), Lesley Modisagaarekwe will be contesting the post of vice President (primary education), currently held by Habana. Lerala regional organiser, Otsile Gondo has been raised to stand for vice president secondary education, which is currently being held by Motsiane who is expected to swap roles as the vice president gender. Interestingly, Kenathata’s camp also wants a new national treasurer, with Keatlametse Ntuelang, who has just returned from further studies, positioned to challenge the incumbent Moses Monnatsie. Ntuelang was a regional organiser in Ngami before he went for further studies.

The Ramotswa meeting of Kenathata’s camp decided to retain Poloko Ntwa as the coordinator of occupational health and safety. Asked to comment on the Ramotswa nocturnal meeting and its effects, the BTU secretary General, Ibo Kenosi laughed and said he chose to reserve his comments for a later stage. Pressed to say if he will also be standing, Kenosi said he had not made up his mind. “Refer to the earlier response, please, that’s what I would say for now”.
