Chiefs Hit Satmos For Six

Chiefs announced their intentions early with two missed chances in the first 10 minutes. Lemponye Tshireletso missed from the spot after Lesego Galenamotlhale was brought down in the box in the fifth minute and Onalethata Tshekiso’s shot hit the lower upright in the 10th minute. Chiefs opened the scoring in the 18th minute with Tendai Nyumasi capitalising from a scramble in the box after a corner kick. Satmos keeper, Kagiso Tshelametsi was called to deal with shots from Nyumasi and Tshireletso in the 25th and 40th minute respectively. Magosi took their slender lead in to the break.
Chiefs doubled the lead in the first minute of the second half, Nyumasi beating Tshelametsi with a low drive to the right after a quick counter attack. Chiefs extended their lead six minutes after Senatla Molefe pounced on a defensive error and laid a pass to Tshireletso who slotted in at the near post. Satmos reduced the deficit in the 61st minute through Thato Ganetsang’s shot to the far post against the run of play. In the 70th minute, Tshireletso beat two defenders for pace on the right flank and laid to Molefe who easily tapped in to increase his team’s advantage. Chiefs got two quick goals in referee’s additional time, with Nyumasi completing his hat-trick with a clinical finish to the far post and Tshireletso who pierced through the defence to beat Tshelametsi on a one on one.
Satmos’ coach, Kgosietsile Jacob said lack of discipline in the team’s play cost them the game. “We let the game slip, we gave Chiefs too much room. We were too casual when we got the ball and were punished from those mistakes,” he said.
His opposite number, Chiefs’ Mike Sithole was pleased with his debutants as they brought stability to the team. “We have been lacking stability, players were forced to play out of position and this win will bring back our confidence going into the next game,” he said.
