Chiefs legends put heads together

The Chiefs legends are set to meet tomorrow at Riverplate ground in Mochudi where they will discuss the status of the club and how best they can support the current executive committee to take the club forward.
One of the legends, Julius ‘Ceaser’ Dintwe said the idea is to come up with a committee, which will be set up as a society. The committee will be made up of club legends who will see to it that the current executive committee gets the much needed support in taking the club to greater heights. “Globally, for the team to be run successfully, there are legends involved. We want to do the same here,” Dintwe said.
He said it would be much easier to help the team when they have a structure than do individually.
“That is the reason why we intend to set up a committee. The reason why we are calling all Chiefs legends is because we want everyone to have a voice so that people do not accuse us of doing things on our own without the involvement of others. This meeting will give us direction on whether what we are proposing is right or wrong,” he said.
Magosi are currently campaigning in the Debswana First Division. They met their demise last year after struggling the entire season.
Magosi’s relegation followed years of internal fights, which discouraged potential sponsors and investors. However, the two warring factions finally reached a common ground last year, paving way for the current committee led by Thapelo Tsheole to run the club.
Dintwe said as legends, they are worried about the status of the club hence they feel they also have a role to play so that the club returns to top flight football, where it belongs. The legends meet at a time when the club faces a FIFA case in which two former coaches, Bongani Mafu and Philani Mabhena are demanding a combined P600,000 in owed salaries.
