Newbies Masitaoka to introduce season tickets

Majatlhaga have been forced into an anxious long wait to taste elite league action due to the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Competitive football is expected to return only in February next year. Masitaoka are using the prolonged break to prepare for life in the elite league.
The team has gained promotion at a time when stadia have furloughed, as there is no action. With more supporters needed at the stadia when action returns, Majatlhaga have moved to introduce season tickets for home games. Speaking to Mmegi Sport, the club’s communications manager, Geoffrey Ratlhaga said management met last weekend to kick-start their preparations for their maiden appearance in the elite league.
He said the introduction of season tickets has been a hot topic at the club in a drive meant to lure new members to the side.
“It has been one of the things we are considering as we prepare to play in the Premier League. We (executive committee) met on Saturday and season tickets are going to be (sold),” Ratlhaga said.
“We will explain how it will work very soon. Of one of the many things was the transition (from a First division team) to a BPL (Botswana Premier League) side, commercialisation, partnerships, brand development and membership drive and management.”
Despite the spokesperson being coy with details, Mmegi Sport is informed that the season tickets will be part of an elite club membership package and the team is working to make their package appealing to the supporters.
Masitaoka gained promotion after the First Division South League was declared complete with three games remaining. Majatlhaga were leading the pack, four points ahead of second-placed Mogoditshane Fighters.
