Radipotsane has been in charge for 11 years, but said the time was now to focus on other commitments in his home village.

“I have done enough for football. I started football administration at a very young age. I have fulfilled my desires in the region and now I am involved in a lot of community projects in Pilikwe and I want to serve my village.  I will not entirely focus on Pilikwe United that is a running project and there are coaches and managers in place to carry it forward, however, I will always be there to supervise.

“When I came back from a break in the regional football, I wanted to make sure I leave the youth and the women’s league running and two years down the line I have accomplished that mission.  Now I am happy to make way for others. I have worked with them and I have trust they will carry on.  I am leaving early so that I allow them room to prepare for the elections in three months,” Radipotsane said. Radipotsane started his career as a football administrator at the age of 19 at Gaborone Ticks Football Club.

He went on to manage national teams between 1995 and 1998.  He then left to manage Township Rollers from 1998 to 2003.

Radipotsane, who is respected for player development, said when his term ended at Rollers he felt he should take his experience back home.

“I was tired of staying in the city so I felt I should give back where I came from. I started the Tswapong Region when there were only four teams, but now we have a competitive regional league with many teams. There is a lot of football talent in Tswapong and teams used to get them raw, we have changed that. Now our players are well developed,” he said.
