Orange Gives Away P100,000 Through The Pompa Lebotha Sms Game!

The winner of the competition, which has been running on the Orange network since May 27, was awarded his prize last Thursday at Blue Tree by Orange Corporate Affairs and Chief Compliance Officer, Lepata Mafa.

Pompa Lebotha is an sms-game which is only open to Orange Botswana’s Prepaid customers, with 10% of the proceeds from the game being donated to Lady Khama Charitable Trust.

The Lady Khama Charitable Trust was founded in 2002 in honour of Lady Ruth Khama.  In establishing the Trust, her eldest son and current patron of the trust, President Ian Khama, seeks to continue the community development work that Lady Khama spent so much of her time pursuing. 

The Trust’s focus on vulnerable women and children mirrors that of Lady K’s, highlighted by her involvement with the Botswana Red Cross Society, Botswana Council for Women and SOS Children’s Villages.

“Through our work, we hope to help everyone we assist to live in dignity.

The Trust allocates its funds to projects in Botswana, through a grant application system. Through this grant application system, charitable organisations submit requests for support. 

These submissions are reviewed at the quarterly Board of Trustee meetings. Those that meet the grant application guidelines then receive support from the Trust.”

Speaking at the handover event, Mabote expressed sheer happiness and joy at having won this huge amount of money, money which he said will definitely change his life.

Since its launch in May 2015, the Pompa Lebotha game has already awarded over P680,000 in cash money and lots of airtime. According to Kebaaneetse Force,  the Innovations and Value Added Services Lead at Orange Botswana, Pompa Lebotha is an sms game that uses Orange prepaid numbers as potential winners.

“The objectives of the game are to raise money for charity as well as to improve the lives of our customers through winnings.

“The competition is on-going and to stand a chance at winning, one first needs to be an Orange customer with an active number.

“Winning with Orange is very simple. All you have to do is send ‘dreams or sub’ to 15333 to play,” he says.
