HCC fans were disappointed during the festive season when they received news that Cassper Nyovest was not coming, but all was forgotten when the main man himself arrived on stage.

Cassper Nyovest is popular in the country as proven by revellers singing along to each and every song he performed. He started his performance with the song 428 To LA and people were repeatedly singing the lyrics, ‘…..made it from a Kayo star to Versace’. From there, Cassper performed No Worries…, a song, which he revealed he had never performed in Botswana before.

Cassper Nyovest continued on a rampant mode with fans tagging along as he performed their favourite songs like Le Mpitse.

The most impressive attribute about Cassper Nyovest is the relationship he has with his fans.  Even as the security pushed revellers away from the stage, the ‘Fill Up The Dome’ rapper begged for his fans to be left alone.

As Cassper Nyovest’s performance heated up Masakeng Rec Park, the rain slowly poured, but no one wanted to move until he was done.

The HCC fans requested their favourite songs and the first song on everyone’s lips was Doc Shebeleza. Cassper Nyovest instead performed Cooking In The Kitchen followed by Gusheshe and Pumakim.

The Mafikeng-born rapper then performed one of his best songs Mama I Made It from his latest album, Refiloe. To wrap up what was a good first act in Botswana this year, the Metro FM awards nominee finally performed everyone’s favourite, Doc Shebeleza.

Despite Cassper Nyovest bringing the house down, local artists had already set the stage on fire.  A lineup of DJs like DJ Sly, Ricky Lamar and T-Man made the waiting worthwhile as revellers could not help but put on their dancing shoes.

Local motswako artist, Mosako also impressed HCC fans with a memorable act.

He arrived on stage teasing his fans with his debut single, Bashianyana. He then performed an endless list of hits like Lesa Go Mbella, Onketsang and Wena Omang Wena.

Team Distant also graced the stage with an electrifying live performance. The house music group outdid itself with a wonderful cover of Black Coffee’s We Dance Again.
