The Expo, which will be held under the theme, ‘Promoting youth entrepreneurship and unlocking strategic partnerships opportunities in the Kgatleng district’, will host dignitaries like Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) chief executive officer, Thapelo Tsheole as well as business coach, Calvin Phokontsi.

“The Expo will provide a perfect opportunity for both young entrepreneurs and aspiring ones to network with business experts, explore different approaches of business, which will help expand their business, entrepreneurial skills as well as self growth,” said Rasetshwane.

Youth entrepreneurs from Kgatleng district, the public and private sector are expected to exhibit their products and services during the Expo.  According to Rasetshwane, stakeholders will have a platform where they engage in an open debate about various challenges faced by youth entrepreneurs, and opportunities which could be better utilised by youth entrepreneurs in the Kgatleng district.

“I realised that most youth businesses fail because they lack empowerment and mentorship as they want their business to generate profits immediately. There are also a lot of business opportunities in Kgatleng which can be exploited to help reduce unemployment,” said Rasetshwane.

In addition, he said he came up with this concept to increase participation of youth entrepreneurs in all sectors, stimulate youth entrepreneurship in the Kgatleng district as well as provide them with a platform to voice out their interest to potential investors, clients and the government.

“This Expo will offer local youth entrepreneurs, the public and private sector the opportunity to exchange business information, learn about new business strategies, network with potential partners and showcase their products and services,” he said.

Last year, Tonie Richie Events and Catering Services held the inaugural Entrepreneurship Expo at Kgatleng, which did not have industry experts. “When evaluating, we took the feedback we got from elders hence the reason why we approached industry experts to come and assist and we are delighted because some of them have shown support once we knocked on their doors,” said Rasetshwane.
