Makwete to release love album on Valentines Day

It will be the group’s second album since releasing their debut album called Maikano in 2013.

In an interview with Showbiz, the group leader Masaka said they have been working on the album since April 2014.

“Monate Wa Lorato is all about love and compared to our previous album,” he said. “It is not focused mainly on wedding songs.”

He further said only two tracks in the album are not love songs.

“This time around the group opted to compose two songs with Shona lyrics, the reason is to cater for our fellow Zimbabweans who like our music,” he said.  Masaka told Showbiz that as a group they posses that special element because of their ability to come up with different concepts.

“We write our own songs and we have done something that has never been done before in this upcoming album,” he said.

Masaka also indicated that they made a promotional CD during the festive season and people couldn’t wait for the album release date. “This album will penetrate the market,” she added.

“We intend to make a tour to countries like Lesotho and Zimbabwe at the end of the year.” He said Makwete Music Group would shoot a DVD soon and it would include three songs from the old album and the other three from the upcoming album.

It will be a compilation of the group’s greatest songs. Masaka said the name Makwete signified unity.

“We are working together to achieve the same goal and solid as Makwete particles,” he said.
