Defiant Sankoyo eye more signings

The two strikers were expected to be in Maun on Monday, with the club also eyeing two to three players in the premiership. Tiiso said he told the committee to let go those players who have expressed desire to leave.
“I am not worried about the players who are leaving the club. I have even told my committee,” he said. “There are players who are available at the club, they will rise to the occasion and they will take the team forward. Our club is in the midst of unrest and we have many issues to solve.” Tiiso said Sankoyo was one team that was selling more players than any other team in the Premiership.
He added: “There is lot of talent in our team. Even next season we know teams will come chasing after them. It is just a matter of building their confidence and they will be fine.”
The Maun based side is facing a crippling financial challenge, which have seen the club fail to shell out players’ dues. After a dream debut season in which the club made nearly P1million from the gate takings, it has been all down hill for Maun’s only Premiership side.
Despite off the pitch challenges, Sankoyo opened 2016 with a commendable 1-1 draw against title chasing Mochudi Centre Chiefs on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, largely dismissed as bridesmaids in this year’s beMOBILE Premiership title race, Orapa United served a massive notice of intent at the weekend.
Remarkably, Orapa United has lost only once in 18matches and are undefeated since coach Madinda Ndlovu took charge at the beginning of the season. The Orapa side moved to just within a point of leaders, Township Rollers after beating fading giants, Gaborone United on Saturday. Rollers stuttered to a 0-0 draw against Jwaneng Galaxy on Sunday.
