Prof Mokgwathi Is UB New DVC

Mokgwathi whose appointment effected January 1, 2016 succeeds Professor Lydia Saleshando who left at the end of 2015 when her contract expired. He has been with the university since 1986 and brings with him a wealth of experience from the teaching service spanning over 26 years.
Mokgwathi rose through the ranks at the university before he assumed his new role.
He joined the Department of Physical Education at UB as a Staff Development Fellow charged with establishing the Department of Physical Education Health and Creation as well to develop sport programmes for students and staff.
He is also credited with establishing the Department of Culture, Sports and Recreation in 1998, which he became its Director, a position he held until 2000 when he was appointed Head of Department of Physical Education.
His last station of work was as Director of Culture, Sport and Recreation.
