TRFA assisted the cash-strapped side last season when its affiliates loaned out several youngsters to save Palapye’s only Premiership side. But TRFA has urged Motlakase to put its house in order and avoid seeking help every season.

“We can’t keep helping Motlakase every season, and this will be the last time. They need to stand up and help themselves; they lack consistency in their administration and that is a problem. They have a one-way plan of trying to survive every season. They don’t know what to do after survival.

“Our intention was to develop talent to grow our regional football, but we are losing a lot of talent to other regions because players need sustainability.

We cannot stop them when they look for greener pastures, players are moving assets. We loan them players, but we are always worried about the welfare of our youngsters. We take a lot of blame from the parents of these young players for the treatment they get at Motlakase,” TRFA chairman, Fobby Radipotsane said.

In the last campaign, TRFA loaned out seven youngsters from various clubs to bail out Motlakase. Five of the youngsters are among the six players that are on the way out of the Palapye-based side.

Chouka’s first choice goalkeeper Daniel Kedidimetse, Gape Mohutsiwa and Serati Semadi were on loan from Palapye All Stars while Thato Kebue and Goitseone Legopelo were from Pilikwe United.

The broke Chouka have since approached TRFA for help with players.

“Last season, we helped them with seven players from the region. We feel obliged to assist them so that as a region we retain a representation in the Premiership.

It is very important for the development of the youngsters in Tswapong to have a team at the top that they will look up to, hence why we support Motlakase. Even now, we have been in communication with them. They have requested our assistance and we will help them,” Radipotsane said.

Meanwhile, Motlakase interim coach, Pule Mogotsi has confirmed they have identified six players but would not mention names and their teams. He said he will only give out information on the matter when they had finalised the deals.
