Ngalande moves back to Zambia

Nico public relations officer, Mogomotsi ‘Ace’ Orapeleng said Ngalande received a better offer back home and decided to terminate his contract. He signed a one-year contract at the beginning of the season with the Selebi-Phikwe-based side.

Ngalande played a massive role in Nico United’s improved run and his departure would be a blow to a side that had struggled with financial issues.

“It is true we have received a letter from Ngalande terminating his contract with Nico. It is a loss for Nico because he was a good player, but we could not stop him because the team has proposed a better offer than us,” he said.

He urged Majombolo supporters to remain calm during the transfer window as it is a period where a lot of changes are expected.

He said the team is not going to recruit many players as they believe they have the right material to play a crucial role to ensure they finish in a better position.

“We are only going to need three or four players to beef up our squad. We need more strikers, especially that Ngalande has left,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mogomotsi said the club has managed to contact coach, Wesley Mondo who has not reported for work since Tuesday. Concerning the alleged resignation of the coach, Mogomotsi said he was surprised to learn the news of Mondo’s resignation in the media.

“We are aware that there have been some rumours that the coach has resigned. We have not received any formal letter from him. We managed to contact him, but he said that he is not able to report for duty because he is not well,” he said.

Mogomotsi said it is not the first time the coach fails to report for duty hence affecting the team.

“It is not the first time Mondo fails to report for duty.  This affects our team’s preparations, especially that the league is resuming and the team intends to finish in a better position,” he said.
