BFA coy on appeals

This week, it emerged that Maokaneng Bontshetse, who lost to Marshlow Motlogelwa in the first BFA vice president contest, had challenged the outcome.
Bontshetse wants the results to be nullified, after one of the votes was discarded as a spoilt paper. He narrowly lost 29-28 to Motlogelwa.
Sinki Sesinyi, who was defeated in the second vice president election, complained about how the contest had been conducted in Jwaneng.
He is demanding a re-run of the whole process.
Masego Ntshingane beat Sesinyi 26-23.
BFA Electoral Committee chairperson, Moemedi Letina referred Mmegi Sport to the BFA regarding appeals.
The mother body’s chief executive officer, Mfolo Mfolo said he was not in a position to neither deny nor confirm if there was any protest.
“I cannot deny nor confirm that we have recorded elections appeals.
Even if we have received them, I will not be at liberty to discuss all the other logistics pertaining to them,” Mfolo said.
Overall, the BFA was praised for the manner in which it conducted the virtual meeting, which was a first for a FIFA member, since the coronavirus (COVID-19) disrupted activities.
President Maclean Letshwiti’s camp almost swept the stakes, winning all but two positions.
Only Carlos Sebina made it from the Tebogo Sebego camp, while Lobito Ncube won as an independent candidate.
The Ookeditse Malesu camp emerged empty-handed, in a bruising contest.
