The duo who were arrested on Christmas and Boxing Days respectively after a tip off will be charged jointly with Attorney Modise David who appeared on Christmas eve.

When called to advance reasons to remand the two men, the investigations officer (IO) Detective Superintendent Sergeant Marapo told the court that the duo confessed some information critical to the case.

Marapo revealed that Modise bought the gun from Seiso on October 17 with the assistance of Tshukudu who is David's friend for P2500.00

Marapo told the court that Tshukudu revealed that he went to Mafikeng with David on two occasions in an attempt to purchase a pistol from one Wilfred Mpolokang for self protection. Marapo said Tshukudu, also a friend to Mpolokang, referred David to Seiso who had a 3006 rifle he was selling.

The IO further revealed that the rifle was sold on the 17th in Gaborone West and was handed to David in presence of one Chester who was not before court in addition to the trio.

Marapo also reported of evidence in print outs and affidavit from Ramatlabama Boarder to prove the movements.

Marapo further said the duo were not candidates for bail as they are currently before Broadhurst Magistrate Court charged with robbery, breaking into a car and theft common. He said they have missed some mentions and had warrants of arrest on their names.

Marapo also revealed that David made a phone call to Tshukudu and suspects and that network providers and experts are yet to produce print outs and affidavits on the communication.

He also revealed that they are looking to arrest Mpolokang and that releasing his friend Tshukudu could interfere with the investigations.

Defending the duo, Enock Mazonde argued that his clients only sold the gun to David and that asking him its whereabouts would be the ideal thing to do. He also argued that at the most his clients would be charged with illegal possession of a firearm and not murder.

Mazonde also argued that the prosecution could not say they can recover the firearm in two weeks when they failed in over two months. He went on to state that his clients were not a flight risk and would suffer harm if remanded as there is nothing substantial to deny them bail.

Magistrate Ike Raphael denied the duo bail  they will appear on the January 12.
