Artists dump Bo Rangolo festival

The group released a press statement on Wednesday, three days before the show.

“Kindly be advised that WE won’t be performing at the Ga Bo Rangolo festival happening on the 26th December at Tapela Farms, Tonota. We saw if fit for us BW acts to come together and make this joint public announcement because our contractual agreement were breached, it be performance payments, transport and accommodation arrangements. To all our fans/supporters be informed that we wont make an appearance and please ignore the continued advertising and activations. We shall seek remedy for this breach after the date.” 

The statement was signed by 12 artists; Dj Chrispin, Noello, Dollar Mac, BK Proctor, Franix, Dj NT Base, La Timmy, Mapetla, Berry Heart, Dj Gouviea, T.H.A.B.O and Dj Colastraw.

Meanwhile Show organiser Dithuso Selepeng says some artists have been paid deposit while others are to be paid before the show.

'I am aware there are complainants from some artists, those who have not been paid will get their dues, I will be traveling to Gaborone after the Hon Olopeng show and will come with a bus which will transport all the artists' he said. 

Selepeng says he faces challenges such as sponsors not paying on time and also fact that people buy tickets last minute.

Last month another group of artists distanced themselves from the line-up of the festival saying they were only surprised to see their names on it without any agreement.
