Since the beginning of this month, people have been on the move as evidenced by the number of vehicles on the roads. Traffic jams in urban areas are the order of the day as local roads cannot cope with too many vehicles at peak hours. The majority of citizens are heading to different destinations while others would remain behind. The police are always advising us to exercise caution especially during the festive season. This is because criminals are also busy breaking laws to terrorise our homesteads. Let us all deny criminals the right to break into our homes while we are away.

We encourage all law abiding citizens to join the neighbourhood watches in order to fight rampant crime in our areas. Inform your neighbours and the Police on your whereabouts so that they could remain behind protecting your property from petty criminals. If all the law abiding citizens could join the neighbourhood watches in their areas, crime could be a thing of the past.

Those who will be travelling should exercise due care in the roads. Every year some of the busiest roads; A1, A2 and A3 claim so many lives. Let us make sure we observe traffic regulations and respect fellow road users. Check if your car is roadworthy before you embark on that long distance to enjoy the be with the loved ones. If you are tired take a well deserved rest.  Some of our drivers have made drinking and driving a habit and that should change. The Police have other duties to perform instead of responding to drunken driving accidents. This time around, we plead with fellow citizens not to over-indulge in alcohol and drugs. Alcohol and drugs have claimed so many promising lives and it is time we say no to drunken driving. It is our hope that we shall usher in the New Year with more renewed determination and high work ethics so that we take our country to another level. We can only achieve that if we are disciplined in our every day lives. We take this opportunity to wish our valued readers and advertisers a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
