Segolame Boy

When he joined Township Rollers last season, Boy was touted as one of the most promising players in the league during his time at Miscellaneous.

He needed no orientation when he joined Rollers and quickly became a key figure despite Popa surrendering their title chase in the second round of the league last season. In the end, he walked away with two individual awards; the Players’ player of the season as well as Supporters player of the season.

This season, Rollers again kicked off the season on a high note. Despite Popa registering a number of quality players at the beginning of the season, Boy kept his place in the starting line up and is currently the team’s leading goal scorer with 10 goals.

He was unfortunately injured in the Mascom Top 8 match against Police XI and has missed four games through the same injury. The soft-spoken attacker seems destined for other individual awards once again this season with Rollers currently sitting at the summit of the league table.

Thabang Sesinyi

Following their exploits last season, Orapa United have proved this time that they are no pushovers. They are currently breathing heavily on Rollers’ neck on the log with just three points separating the two teams. One player who has been influential this season is Thabang Sesinyi with his crucial goals. He recently grabbed a hat-trick against FC Satmos and took his tally of goals to 11, just one behind leading goal scorer, Moatlhodi Ralesotla. The player seems to be enjoying his game under the tutelage of Zimbabwean mentor, Madinda Ndlovu.

Moatlhodi Ralesotla

Ralesotla took the Premier League by storm this season following Green Lovers’ arrival in the elite league. He is currently the leading goal scorer with 12 goals. His eye for a goal and composure in the box has already caught the eye of big guns in the league. He is linked with a move to Gaborone United (GU) in January.

Tendai Nyumasi

Although Mochudi Centre Chiefs struggled earlier on in the season, Nyumasi has always raised his hand as a key figure in the team. The Zimbabwean midfielder joined Chiefs last season from ECCO City Greens and helped Magosi win the league title. He is once again an outstanding figure in Chiefs colours this season.

Mosha Gaolaolwe

Gaolaolwe is not only enjoying his game at BDF XI, but has also fitted in well at the national team. He is seen as a perfect replacement for Mompati Thuma both at the club and the Zebras levels. He recently extended his stay at BDF XI as he continues to improve under Beston Chambeshi.

Tshepo Motlhabankwe

While Segolame Boy has been influential for Rollers this season with his goals, one unsung hero has been utility player, Motlhabankwe who seems to be getting even better with age. His runs and crosses on the right have been key to Rollers’ unbeaten run.

Tendai Nyamadzawo

The tall Zimbabwean player joined GU last season from TAFIC, but suffered an injury setback, which kept him out for the better part of the season. He joined Gilport Lions this season on loan and has been scoring goals for fun. He has scored eight league goals so far this season.

Tapiwa Gadibolae

His selection to the national team received criticism from some football pundits as he was not a regular player at his parent club, Township Rollers.

However,  he proved many doubters wrong when he fitted in well in Peter Butler’s team.

This season, Rollers loaned him out to Police XI and has established himself as one of crowds’ favourite. He has been the pillar both in the midfield and right back for Police XI.
