Science: The unholy act

Yes, I reiterate the fact it was packed with an audience of all races enjoying a festive moment testing their mettle against spooky Frankenstein. Victor Frankenstein is a 2015 American sci-fi action horror film based on a contemporary adaptation of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel, Frankenstein.
Frankenstein films command a huge following because of the way they test the barriers of nature. We have had Frankenstein films before, like the 2004 installment upon which the focus was on the monster. However, this time the concept is different.
As for the cast, when you merge a magician wizard from Harry Porter (2001-2011 film series), an unstable mutant gunslinger ,Wesley Gibson trained by assassin character of Angelina Jolie in Wanted (2008) the combination sparks into some form of mad scientists bond of Igor Strausman (Daniel Radcliffe) and Victor Frankenstein (James McAvoy) redefining a horrifying union.
A radical scientist, Victor Frankenstein (McAvoy) and his equally brilliant protégé, Igor Strausman (Radcliffe) share a noble vision of aiding humanity through their groundbreaking research into immortality. But Victor’s experiments go too far, and his obsession has horrifying consequences. Only Igor can bring his friend back from the brink of madness and save him from his monstrous creations.
Action
This film’s director, Paul McGuigan, was a relatively unknown before this Victor Frankenstein thrilling production as his works were mostly cheap shot. This was reminiscent of Gollum creature from Lord of the Rings. In this Frankenstein retcon Igor narrates his life story with the scientific mad genius himself in pro-creating life.
Victor Frankenstein shares similar cinematography with movies such as Sherlock Holmes as well as Van Helsing, just to name a few.
This thriller also keeps one glued to the big screen and tucked in their seat with its spine chilling suspense when obsessed medicine student Victor Frankenstein gets a thought he can give life to a dead creature in a lab.
Such motives set this horror to a bumper climax. Movie villain detective, Turpin goes all out to stop these mad geniuses from achieving the unthinkable by suggesting that “be careful Mr Frankenstein you are toying with radical forces and there is no mercy in defying nature”. However such threats are meaningless to obsessed scientists. This brings us also to the themes of this movie as it appeals upon issues of science, conspiracy, slavery, guilt, fear, deception, romance, loyalty, courage and hope at the forefront. Lastly amongst many other enterprises Victor Frankenstein is also bolstered with engaging twist, a lot of back-stabbing with egocentric cops and un-trust worthy friendships.
Reception
I am still shocked as to how Victor Frankenstein has failed dismally at the box office because the film is exciting in theatre.
Released officially on November 25, it has pocketed only $25 million, marginally lower than the film’s $40 million production budget. It premiered with a record low $2.3 million.
