Rangers deny rift with sponsor

On the other hand, Mmegi Sport is informed that Rangers have secured a sponsorship from a certain company, hence they want to terminate the relationship with Kgalemang.
It is reported that Kgalemang has been pushed to the edge and had threatened to quit as the chairperson.
Kgalemang is reportedly frustrated with the way the management is running the team, as there are no clear roles as to who does what in the team.
“Kgalemang wants out,” the source said. “He feels the management is competing with him and they even sideline him when making some decisions. He has been sponsoring the team with transport and bought three playing kits.”
The source said if Kgalemang were to dump Rangers, it would be a big blow to the team because he has been there for it all the time.
However, Molefe denied the speculation. He said just like any new team, Rangers was going through challenges. He said Kgalemang has never told the committee about his concerns. He said Kgalemang was able to assist the team with sponsorship especially with transport.
“We always communicate with him and even in our last meeting we gave him feedback despite his absence,” Molefe said. “If he is not happy about something, he should come forward and tell us. We have never withheld information from him.”
Contacted for comment, Kgalemang said he was not in a position to respond to the speculation. He said there were some issues that he wanted to address before he decides on the way forward. He said his aim was to take Rangers to greater heights and that could only happen if there was support from all stakeholders.
Meanwhile, Molefe said the first round of the league was an eye opener for them. He said the team did not do well because of lack of experience in the first division. He said some of the games they lost was due to poor finishing.
“We are hopeful of bouncing back in the second round. Football has been inactive in the Kgalagadi area and it will be sad for Rangers to relegate,” he said. Rangers finished the first round at the bottom of the log with six points, scoring four goals and conceding 20 goals in the process.
