The station presented a short video segment in support of Kast’s campaign at the second installment of the Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMAS) 2.0 held at GICC on Saturday.

The video included one-on-one interviews with Yarona FM’s top presenters like Zizi and Dollar Mac. The video included an opinion from fellow hip-hop musician E.P.I.C who also backed the idea. Most of the interviewees backed Kast’s idea and believed it is possible as long as there is support.

YAMAs support comes months after the rapper, whose real name is Tshepiso Molapisi, lodged the intention to fill up the stadium following the success of South African musician, Cassper Nyovest’s Fill Up The Dome campaign in September.

The 100 percent local act Kast Stadium Capacity Concert will be held on May 14 next year.  Yesterday Kast went on Facebook to thank the youthful radio station for the support.

“Shout out to Yarona FM - Live the Music for giving #TlatsaLebala a whole segment at #YAMAs2.0, felt like the biggest winner of the night #TlatsaLebala,” reads the Facebook status.

Kast further told Showbiz that the support from Yarona FM means a lot.  “They did a wonderful job. I never thought it was going to be big,” he said.

Kast said he thought they were going to mention it in passing, but they dedicated a full segment to support the campaign. He said he was grateful for being able to grab the station’s attention.

“It got them excited and they think it’s a cool idea,” he said.

Kast said they are continuously pushing the campaign ahead of the show next year.

“We are meeting relevant stakeholders to get their support and it is promising,” he said.
