Rollers feud takes another twist

In the latest saga, co-chairperson of the club, Walter Kgabung has since released a statement distancing the interim committee from the letter allegedly written to Jagdish Shah.
The letter apparently demanded the release of all documentation, transactions, financials and assets, including merchandise and sponsorship funds of Township Football Club to the current interim executive committee.
However, Kgabung has since distanced the committee from the letter saying it does not represent the position of the interim committee.
“The affairs of Township Rollers FC are run by the interim executive committee and all decisions are sanctioned by the committee,” he said.
“The Township Rollers FC supporters, members and well wishers are advised that even though the letter is authored by two members of the interim committee, it was never sanctioned by a resolution of the interim Committee. They wrote it at their own volition.”
Kgabung said the relationship between interim committee and Shah as an individual was negotiated, reduced to writing and signed between him (Shah) and Township Rollers FC to take effect from October 4 this year until end of February next year.
“The relationship with Township Holdings (Pty) Ltd was nullified by Justice Dambe’s judgement and hence has no effect at this moment in time,” he added.
“I therefore categorically distance myself from the contents of the letter.”
Meanwhile, Rollers remain perched at the top of the beMOBILE Premiership table despite dropping two points over the weekend. Rollers played to a 1-1 draw against BDF XI while both Orapa United and Mochudi Centre Chiefs eased past their opponents.
Chiefs on Friday thrashed BR Highlanders 4-0 to temporarily move to second position with 32 points. Orapa United, however, reclaimed the second position on Sunday afternoon following their 5-0 win over FC Satmos.
They have now reduced the gap between them and the log leaders to three points. Defending champions, Chiefs now trail Rollers by six points.
BDF XI retained fourth position. Miscellaneous, who were shocked by Motlakase Power Dynamos over the weekend, also retained their position. Motlakase have now moved to position 14 and leapfrogged BR Highlanders.
Satmos remain rooted at the bottom of the log with just four points from 16 matches.
