Womens cricket team tours Namibia

The deceased, Namibian men’s team player, passed away during a game in South Africa a few weeks ago.

Laura Mophakedi captains Botswana’s 14-member team, which is mainly dominated by young players. The team also consists of experienced players who include Florence Samanyika and Shameela Mosweu, a former Under 19 national team captain.

The tournament will be a tough assignment for Botswana as they hardly play competitive games. They only get to practice on different occasions.

Botswana play their first game tomorrow against Namibia with the second game on Sunday against Namibia Invitational.

The team is under the guidance of Zimbabwean coach, Elvis Chipfumbu, who has been Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) development coach for some time.
